Can Dry Cough Be Treated With The Medicines, Podplus And Azibact?

My son ageing 17 years has been suffering from dry cough.
On last occasion in similar attack physicians prescribed podplus325 and Azibact500 .
Will these medicines work this time also

actually it can be allergic also or due to viral infection so antibiotics can be given as a prophylactic medicine
