Can Discontinuing Nadolol 40mg Cause Constant Nausea?

Could almost constant nausea be the effect of discontinuing 40 mg daily of nadolol? I was prescribed the medication a year or two ago for migraines but I recently quit my job that had benefits to go back to college. Now I can t afford the drug because I have no insurance so haven t taken any since I ran out about 4-5 days ago. I am currently weaning from bupropion and take two 150 mg tablets 2x a day. Since I knew bupropion was something I knew I needed to wean from, I went to the Dr. while still insured and got enough pills for weaning. I am 41 years old, non-smoker female, 5 4 , 140 pounds and the only other pills I take now are vitamins; super B complex, zinc, and D3.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Welcome to HCM and thank you for the query.
Nadolol is a betablocker which was prescribed for you for prevention of headache.
Stopping betablocker abruptly can produce symptoms like headache or nausea.
If the symptoms are difficult to tolerate, you may use a cheap betablocker like Inderal (Propranolol) which may be available OTC.
If you have more queries, I am available.
Take Care
