Can Diltiazem Or Flecainide Acetate Be Taken To Stop Flutters?
I was diagnosed with a-fib in 2011 and have not had a problem since. For the past few days i have had flutters every 5-10 heart beats and its giving me anxiety. I had a Dr appointment yesterday and when he checked my heart it was normal during my visit. My Dr said give it a week and lay off the caffeine, It stayed that way for a few hours but returned to flutters last night, and all day today. My question is can i take diltiazem or flecainide acetate to see if it will stop the flutters?

hi fibrillation or flutter can aggravate due to many related causes, either stress, heavy meals, CAFFEINE, DRUGS, BRONCHODILATORS, electrolyte imbalance, cardiac valvular & ischaemic problems, anxiety & so on. that`s why sometimes it turns to be normal on ECG. Dilzem, flecainide, betablockers are the treatment of choice for atrial fibrillation. metoprolol in low doses (25 mgs) or dilzem 30 mgs twice daily is quite safe for your condition. you can start on these drugs & get evaluated with the cardiologist for the related cardiac problems, all the best take care
