Hi there,

The type 2 diabetes you have developed might have caused neuropathy affecting the majority of your body nerves, including tongue and taste buds.

However, I advise to run further tests to rule out other pathologies before confirming neuropathy of tongue and taste buds:
- GERD (pH study)
- mouth thrush (mouth swab culture for candida)
- physical examination of oral cavity and throat by ENT specialist
- brain problems (ct-scan of head)

All the best!
