Hi thanks for asking in HCM. weight loss and high sugar levels are indicative of diabetes. Your father seems to be loosing sugar in urine which is one of the causes of weight loss.Let him go through detailed tests so that he can be given proper treatment. Present treatment seems to be either not working properly or the doses have to be adjusted.Mean while he should be encouraged for proper exercise and consult a dietitian for his diet plan.Long standing uncontrolled diabetes causes lots of complications. Early diagnosis and proper treatment will go far in avoiding those complications.
