Can Diabetes Cause Low Blood Pressure?

How does diabetes affect my Blood Pressure?
I am 64 years old male...5' 9'. I am approx 200 lbs and have C.O.P.D. I am on oxygen and have just been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. I just started medication (metformin) but my B.P. dropped 116/61 on the weekend and I felt very weak.

Hello
Welcome to HCM
I understand your concerns. As you are 64 years old and you are diagnosed with diabetes now, there are possibilites of you suffering from cardiac autonomic neuropathy.

But only one reading of low blood pressure doesn't indicate that you are suffering from this.
I would advice you to take three consecutive readings of blood pressure at intervals.
Hoping for the speedy recovery.
Thank you
