Can Diabetes Cause A Testicular Hydrocele?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...My husband is a type I diabetic and recently developed a testicular hydrocele. The doctor will not do surgery because my husband's sugar levels were to high. I have two questions: Can diabetes cause a testicular hydrocele? And, can testicular hydroceles cause higher sugar levels? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi.
Thanks for your query for your husband.
Noted the history that he is suffering from type I diabetes and has developed hydrocele.
To answer your first question> Diabetes is not known to cause hydrocele unless it is secondary to urinary tract infection secondary to diabetes, rarely can get converted into pyocele and thus diabetes may be occasionally related to the hydrocele.
Your second question relates to whether hydrocele cause higher sugar level.
Yes, it can only if it is infected.
