Can Depression Or Alcohol Cause Erectile Dysfunction?
My husband has erectile dysfunction but he also drinks and I suspect is depressed. He takes sidenfial and Cialis etc but they don t work properly. Is it because he takes the tablets too late, or because he drinks or because he is depressed or can the ED also be due to the 2 above. Also, he self medicates and I worry this will give him a heart problem especially as he already has high blood pressure/
hello user, i understand your concerns . The answer is "yes" both depression and alcohol can lead to sexual dysfunction in their own way by hormonal and neurochemical changes in body , especially if alcohol is taken daily and since prolonged times. however the primary condition can also be other way round like the erectile dysfunction may be leading him into depression and alcoholism - so getting him checked with a psychiatrist would be good option , as he can manage all the 3 problems simultaneously - drinking , depression and ED, also as self medication with sildenafil is not safer in case of hypertensives. hope i answered your query, if satisfied please rate the answer
