Can Cystic Fibrosis And Poor Lung Capacity Cause Death?

I wonder if my body is "trying" to die in my sleep. I'm 33 years old, I have Cystic Fibrosis, my lung functions are very bad, I'm going through the process of getting listed for double lung transplant, and I sleep with oxygen.

Sometimes I wake up feeling as though I just barely escaped dying in my sleep. I feel a sudden lurch, like a thud in my chest, accompanied by the realization that I'm not breathing at all (or am just barely breathing), and I feel some kind of electrical surge.

Maybe it's just a vivid dream?
