Can Cyst In Left Ovary Be Treated With Medication?

Hi, I had a transvaginal examination yesterday as I was 43 days late on my period. Please see info below onn what is in the report. Kindly advise if the cyst on my left ovary can be treated by medication Uterus - Retroverted Endometrium - Hyperechoic Right Ovary - Lateral with several immature follicles Left Ovary - Lateral with a unilocular echogenic structure measuring 1.08 x 0.91cm, suggestive of dermoid focus Others: No free fluid in the posterior cul de sac Impression: Normal sized retroverted uterus intact endometrium normal right ovary Cystic structure left ovary, suggestive of dermoid focus Thank you for your assistance -Kris :)

Hi there, I have understood your concern. I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.

1 ) First of all do not panic.

2 ) As you have mentioned about your USG reports are suggesting a dermoid, I will suggest you to remove it by laparoscopy, preferably.

3 ) as you might be knowing that dermoid cyst is a benign condition, but needs to be surgically removed.

4 ) You can also get it confirmed by CT scan, and then plan for surgery. As such there is no medicinal treatment for it.

5 ) Although not common benign dermoid can grow in size and there can be risk of developing teratoma.
