Can Crystal Meth Cause Elevation In Blood Sugar?

I ve heard that crystal meth can raise blood sugar , but how much? Is it significant in diabetics? And how quickly? Can it get high enough to be dangerous? I know meth is dangerous itself and unhealthy, but please spare me the lecture. I am a fairly educated and responsible user and as safe as possible, and would like to know how the drug effects diabetics...

Hi there ~

I understand your concerns. Crystal meth usage may cause an elevation in the blood sugar level. I believe that it can also make your diabetes mellitus worse by varying your levels of blood sugars. I also think that every individual is different and your blood sugars can vary widely depending on the severity of diabetes you have. It can be dangerous to the point of being fatal with the use of injectable meth. However much you know about diabetes, without kicking the meth habit controlling your diabetes would be difficult to say the least. I hope you consult a psychiatrist as soon as possible to kick the habit and go to rehab as soon as possible.
