Can Coloration Of The Legs Be A Infection?

My 25 yr old daughter has Cerebral Palsie and has had a ryzotomy at age 6 and tender transfers at age 18 that went badly. SHe had a severe leg infection at age 21 and now has noticed that her one leg gets very red when coming out of the shower and the other does not. It is bright red and is noticeably much redder than the other even after being out of the shower for several minutes. Should we be concerned that she is having another leg infection?

I understand your concern as you are suspecting recurrence of infection in your daughter's leg. I suggest you look for signs like redness, pain and ooze from the skin which denotes infection. Redness is seen in infections like cellulitis but there is associated tenderness, swelling and ooze. So please look for these signs of infection and get in touch with her treating doctor for appropriate therapy.
