Can Breast Tenderness Be Caused By Stopping Heavy Antibiotic Dose?

I suddenly, started two days ago, have breast tenderness in one breast. Wondered if this has anything to do with just ending 10 days of heavy antibiotic use for suspected diverticulitis (prescribed metronidazole and ciprofloxacin). During that 10 days, did not take my calcium plus Vit. D supplements nor did I eat my usual greek yogurt daily. I am 64, post-menopausal, but do take bio-identical hormone replacement: biestrogen topical cram and progesterone tablets daily.

Hi, I went through your query. It is very unlikely that you are having the tenderness due to antibiotics or stopping them. The hormone replacement you are taking is the main cause. I would suggest that you stop the replacement gradually for the time being and take a teatree oil supplement. Teatree oil could also be massaged onto the breast. However if there is a lump in your breast you should get it examined by a surgeon, MRI and FNAC done. Hope this helps.
