Can Blur Vision Be Symptom Of Diabetes?

I was on Metromin for a few years then stopped the med that was causing GI problems, lost weight, exercised, and my sugars were fine. I have since gone back up in weight, stopped exercising and my sugars have been elevated. I am starting to have blurred vision and my sugars were 556. Am I in danger? I do not have any meds at home anymore since last year? What should I do?

Hi,

Yes, blurred vision can be due to diabetes. In your case its more likely to be due to diabetes. You should control blood sugar and should take urgent medical attention. WIth 556 sugar level chances of ketoacidosis is more and also since uncontrolled the occurrence of retinopathy and nephropathy is more. So needs urgent medical management.

Hope this helps you. Feel free to ask if any further queries.

Regards
