Can Blood And Urine Test Reveal STD?
I engaged in unprotected oral and vaginal sex on Friday. Today, Monday, I have a sore throat with white puss on the back of my throat. I went to the doctor and tested negative for strep throat. When I told the doctor I was concerned about it being an STD, she thought I was crazy and said an STD wouldn t manifest like that on the throat and it is more than likely tonsilitis. I gave blood and urine for a full STD panel today. If I do have an STD will my blood and or urine show it?

Sore throat is not a common manifestation of a STD but if an STD is present it may show up on your STD panel of tests.
In some cases a certain amount of time needs to pass after exposure before a test can demonstrate if a particular infection is present.This is called the window period.
If the tests are negative and you are still concerned then they may need to be repeated when this time has passed.
