Can Bilateral Peritubal Adhesion Be Corrected In Pregnancy?

hello doc I lost my first pregnancy at 5months last year in august, have however been trying to conceive again in vain. I just did an HSG and the results are; The uterine cavity is retroverted, there s bilateral peritoneal spillage R L. There is loculated peritoneal spillage bilaterally. Conclusion: There are bilateral peritubal adhesions. Could this be the cause for the delay and can it be corrected? Thanx

Hello and welcome,

I am sorry but I am not very sure about your query. Your question says that can the adhesions be corrected during pregnancy.

If there are adhesions then most likely they will prevent pregnancy. So most likely they will need correction before one gets pregnant. If pregnancy has occured despite the adhesions then there is no need to correct them.

It seems that you are attempting pregnancy and unable to conceive. So I suggest that you visit a good infertility specialist and undergo a laproscopy. The adhesions can be removed and also samples collected from them so as to know if there is any infection.

Once they are released then your chances of pregnancy will improve.

So go ahead and see your doctor as soon as possible.

Best of luck.
Hope this satisfies your query.
