Can Being Overweight Cause Edema In The Lower Leg Area?
femal 49 and 40 pounds over weight .My legs knee and bellow knee are broken out into sever red rash,my ankles and legs are swollen.I have gone to a a clinic doctor and asked if he could help direct me to any direction. This is not new this has been getting worse for years.
Mostly it must be due to hypothyroidism which is very common in women. Do you have following symptoms – constipation, tiredness, cold hand and feet, irritation, insomnia and slow heart rate??? But other serious causes needs to be excluded such heart, liver and kidney disorders. Exclusion is easily possible by physical examination by a trained doctor and some laboratory tests. Advice 1. Consult a general physician for exclusion of other causes 2. Take bed rest for few days 3. Apply locally Soframycin cream every 12 hours for leg rash 4. Investigations a. Serum T4 and TSH b. Hemoglobin percentage I hope this information will help you. I will be happy if you ask another question Thanks
