Hi,
According to the investigation and the values which you have provided for the cholesterol levels and you father age, weight and height, most of the values are in the normal range and I would not suggest any medication to be taken to maintain the cholesterol. Only the level of HDL is less than the preferred level of 60. HDL is called as good cholesterol and in many studies related to the condition of the heart diseases. But as the other parameters are within the normal level any specific medication for increasing the HDL level is not required at this time if your father has no other associated conditions. Come medications used for this purpose are mainly statins, fibrates and
bile acid-binding resins. Depending upon the requirements these are prescribed. At this time doing regular exercises and proper diet which is less in saturated fat and red meat and adding fish and green veg along with fruits can help to keep the cholesterol level in the normal range.
Thanks and take care.
