I am a 60 year old female, 5 4 , 185lbs. I do not have a history of-- high blood pressure, high cholesterol or diabetes. My BP usually runs about 108/58, pulse 55, cholesterol 140. I have a history of mild to moderate osteoarthritis and low back pain. Recently I had an iridotomy procedure done to my right eye for narrow angle. I have dark brown eyes so the opthamalogist had to use two different types of lasers. While the second laser was being used, it produced a great deal of pain in my right eye. The procedure was unsuccessful in breaking through and I will have to return to have a second procedure performed after a one week course of prednisone drops to reduce swelling. The next couple of days after the procedure was done, I noticed that my blood pressure was elevated and my lower legs and ankles were severly swollen. Is this possibly an adverse effect associated with the iridotomy procedure?
