Can An Infected Bartholin’s Cyst Cause A Miscarriage?

Can an infected bartholin cyst cause a miscarriage? Never had children or any miscarriages that I know of. I m 26. I ve always had regular menstral cycles. I started my last period July 7, ended on July 13. Noticed the Bartholin Cyst (1st one I ve ever had) on July 21. Started 2 antibiotics along with an antibiotic shot on July 24. Had the abscess lanced on July 25. Started bleeding heavily again on July 27. I spoke with a nurse today about maybe the antibiotics throwing off my menstrual cycle. She said my physician said that shouldn t happen & suggested I take a pregnancy test. I used an E.P.T. & it came back negative. I don t have insurance & I don t want to go back for another round of appointments if I don t have to. I m trying to figure out if I may have miscarried or if I m taking the test too early since my period should not have started until next week. Or if I m just having a normal early period. Thank you.

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
The first thing that can make you feel you are pregnant with a high degree of certainty is a missed period.Period a few days earlier may or may not be a miscarriage.A negative pregnancy test suggest there was no pregnancy.I feel you just had your period. An infected Batholin's cyst may not cause miscarriage directly. The cyst forms when the gland is blocked. This gland is responsible for secreting fluid that lubricate the vagina not hormones that can help the embryo to stay in place. However, stress from having such an infection may contribute to a miscarriage but not very probable.
You do not need to go see the Doctor.Just observe and wait for your next period. If it comes again early and flows not as usual, you may then prepare and see a Gynecologist for examination and investigation.
Hope my answer will help you
Best regards
