Can Alcoholism Cause Dizziness? Have Abdominal Ascites, Neuropathy, And Bruising

My brother has significant brusing on both his arms, abdominal ascites - which he has been hospitalized for - and neuropathy in his feet. He now says he is beginning to lose his balance, and attributes this to the numbness of his feet. I am concerned that his dizziness is yet another symptom of his alcoholism. He is 67, and has been drinking since he was in his 20s, primarily beer and wine, but drinks daily. He only shares information with me when there is a crisis, or he's concerned, but more importantly, in the presence of these dramatic physical changes, he seems to not attribute them to his drinking. Primary question, then doctor, is your opinion on the new symptom of dizziness. Thank you so much for any information or direction. This has been a family tragedy beyond my reach.
