Can Abnormal Bilirubin Level During Pregnancy Be A Sign Of Something Harmful?

i am 29 weeks pregnant and a recent urine test showed I had Bilirubin (i dont know whether it was a little or a lot). I then had a blood test, which has since come back satisfactory. I am awaiting the results from my urine sample as they sent it to the lab for further testing. I am also rhesus negative. Should i be worried that Bilirubin was detected? I have no other symptons, my blood pressure is fine, baby is healthy and moving a lot. thanks

Yes, it is concern of much thinking.

You should be tested for Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B and other liver function test to rule out the exact cause of the problem.


If its hepatitis than care should be taken to not to expose the baby to the maternal blood.

In other cases of deranged liver function test. Liver should be optimised by giving ayurvedic treatment for liver.

Please maintain good oral hygiene and overall good hygiene as it can be equllaly help full as taking the drugs.

Please go for checking the blood pressure also as high blood pressure can cause rise in blood pressure in liver and so rise in liver enzymes and bilirubin.
