Hi! Rajdeep,

I can understand your concern as it is normal to feel that way especially when you are having diabetes. You must try to manage your diabetes well by controlling your diet and exercise. Using a glucometer device helps you to monitor your blood sugar at home and also gives you an idea about any changes that you need to make in your diet and activity levels. Also make sure your diabetes is well in control before you plan for a pregnancy. Consult a gynaecologist for effective family planning methods to avoid unplanned pregnancy. Once your diabetes is well-controlled, and you are planning for pregnancy, go for a pre-natal check up and stay in touch with your doctors throughout for a healthy and safe pregnancy.

Get your A1C test done to know how good your blood sugar control is. Consult your diabetologist and ask him if any changes need to be done in your insulin dose. . Hope this will guide you in managing your diabetes well during and after pregnancy too. Take care. You can ask me again if you have any doubts or queries regarding pregnancy and diabetes. Eat well and sleep adequately.Don't worry too much and just look after yourself well.
