Can A Sore Throat And Bump On Back Of Tongue Be Cancerous?

I have a flesh colored bump on the back of my tongue that sticks up and u can visibly see when depressing the tongue down. I don t have tonsils anymore since they were removed when I was a child. There is no pain when I swallow but I have had a sore throat. I also had my thyroid removed 3 months ago. Went to the doctor and thy r referring me to a ENT but put me on reflux medicine, allergie meds, and a antibiotic cause my ears were red and one small lymph node was englarded .. I m scared to death it could b cancer , is there anything else it could be?
