Can A Sinus Infection Cause A Spike In The Blood Pressure?

I had open heart surgery 12 yrs ago caused by Takayasus disease which caused early mentapause (hysterectomy 3 yrs ago) and celiac disease all at the age of 35. I'm on blood thinner and all sorts of meds. Currently I was diagnosed with a sinus infection. The antibiotics don't seem to be working. The other night my blood pressure spiked to 242/117 with severe headaches and vomiting! I did go to the ER... but my question is, could the sinus infection have caused the spike, or even the celiac (I've been very bad with the diet lately!), or both?

Hi,
The spike in the blood pressure may not be caused by any of the diseases like Sinusitis or Celiac disease.
This must be a primary hypertension as there is a history of a Heart Surgery and you are already on medicines. High blood pressure can cause the Severe Headache as also the sinusitis
Go to the ER .
