Can A Respiratory Infection Cause Breathing Difficulties?
I had a cold that developed into bronchitis or a cough with phlem and nasal mucous. I am taking antibiotics now, as this has not resolved for almost a month. I feel as though I am breathing smoke and smelling smoke. No one else in my home smells smoke. I am also wheezing. Is this smoke smell a result of a bacterial respiratory infection?
In my opinion you should 1st consult pulmonologist and get done chest x ray to rule out lower respiratory tract infection Like pneumonia. In this patient csn have breathing difficulty and wheezing with fever. And pneumonia is common after upper respiratory tract infection. And anaerobic bacterial infection cause unpleasant smell from sputum. So consult pulmonologist and get done x ray chest.
