Can A Person With Diabetes Eat Natural Sugar From Fruits

My daddy is a borderline diabetic, which means he doesn t exactly quite have diabetes but is in the risk of getting it. We ve already tried to make him eat less sugar to keep from getting it, but he always wants what he can t have. Is it okay if he eats natural sugar in fruits?

Natural sugar in fruits also can elevate sugars, however you can giv ehim one fruit per day and cut down on his other carbohydrate intake, replace with more of high fibre vegetables and proteins. If he is not keeping diet control, he can anytime get pushed into frank diabetes from borderline diabetes.

I have an experience which may be useful : An hour or so before going for a test, I ate a few sweet red grapes. After checking, my glucose level was 11 mmol/L. My usual level was around 6 mmol/L.

I believe, all sweet fruits will increase glucose level. Choose fruits that are less sweet.

Eat sour fruits like star-fruit. If you have a glucose meter you can check your self.

I was told i am on borderline 11 weeks back and after 9 weeks of restraint (only papaya/apple daily) i started, eating watermelon, raisins figs, kharbooja, papaya, apple daily in dinner. Now all my tea (5-7 cups a day) i am using honey instead of the artificial sweetner.

Yes i am also eating cinnamon power, fenugreek powder, turmeic in milk, lots of onion, garlic, beet carrot.

My last FBS was 60.
My last PPBS after consuming substantial qnty of rice was 96.

Yes all fast food/junk food, engineered oils and fats are completely banned. Thank god Mosanto couldn't succeed in their last attempt to push BT Brinjal. So eating Brinjal also.

Dear
sugar content in any form be it natural or direct sweets is going to increase blood sugar. Better option is to remain under observation with restraints as the threshold to slip from borderline to confirmed diabetic is very low.
the herbs mentioned above fenugreek, cinamon , turmeric are known to reduce blood glucose and can be administered as medicine in boreder line cases.
