Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can A Person With Cholesterol Level Of 307 Do Regular Exercises?
I have elevated cholesterol of 307 and triglycerides of 428 along with elevated blood pressure of 145/80-85. I am a 63 year female with a height of 5 8 and a weight of 145. I used to regularly work out but have been more sedentary in the past 7 years. I want to exercise again but am concerned about beginning again with these risk factors. I also would like to avoid taking statins. What would you recommend for supplements?
You should be doing exercises regularly. Start with with brisk walking and stretch exercises. At a weight of 145 pounds your BMI is normal. But the most important aspect is diet.Calculate your calories and macro calories and stick to the prescribed levels. This will give you 90% results. Use an online calorie calculator to calculate your daily requirements and stick to it for maintenance.
There are other safe alternatives for statin, though I would not suggest without knowing why you want to change. Supplements recommended considering your age and problems. Calcium + vit-d , Antoxid tablet, fish oil tablets.
