Can A Period Be Mistaken To Be A Cervical Biopsy Bleeding?

Is it possible to mistake my period as bleeding from a cervicle biopsy? The bleeding occurred 24 hours after the biopsy and around the time my period should have started but I m also irregular. Day 43 and no period and negative on my pregnancy tests. We are trying to conceive so I don t want to miss my ovulation timeframe. My last period was 50 days apart.

Hello,
Thanks for sharing your health concern with us. Bleeding from a cervical biopsy is usually seen on the day and perhaps the next, but tends to decline later; a menstrual period does not. Moreover, menstrual bleeding occurs in bouts. If you have 50-day cycles, ovulation is likely to occur around the 35th day, two weeks prior to the onset of the next period. In this scenario, home pregnancy tests do not read so early. The better way is to go for the blood test to detect pregnancy. You can also chart the basal body temperature to pinpoint ovulation and also conception, when taken correctly. Hope this helps.
