Can a diabetic conceive ?

Hi Dr, Iam having Dimet 500.My fasting blood sugar is 130 and my HbA1c result value is 7.Iam 33 years old and now Iam trying to become pregnant .Tell me the treatment Dr.My height is 158cm and weight is 73 Kg

Hello,

Yes ! Diabetic patients can conceive and the not necessarily the child will always be diabetic !
But certainly, you should achieve very good control over BSL . Set target HbA1c 6 .

If Sugars are not control, there are lot many stories revolving around liquor of mother and risk of complications. I would like to suggest you to consult a dietician as well diabetologist followed by Gync. for better outcomes.

DIABETES PATIENT CAN CONCEIVE BUT SHOULD HAVE GOOD BLOOD SUGAR CONTROL AND PREFERABLY TAKE REGULAR INSULIN 3TIMES A DAY AND MONITOR BLOOD SUGARS 6TIMES INA WEEK ATLEAST

130 fasting is way to high to plan pregnancy. Shift to Insulin (you will have to do it in pregnancy anyways. Better do it beforehand). Get your hba1c down. Then plan the pregnancy. Keep the sugars in check throughout the pregnancy.
