Can A Delayed Period With Sore Breasts And Blood Spotting Be Signs Of Pregnancy?

im 19 yrs old and been on birth control pills for 2 months and im a little over a week late for my period, had some spotting on the day i should have started I also have very sore breasts and nipples I took a ept test and it showed negative Could I still be pregnant/

A pregnancy test will typically turn positive about two weeks after conception which is about the time of the missed period. So, in cases like yours, if the test is negative at this point, then you are not pregnant. In most cases, the cause of the delayed period and symptoms is delayed ovulation. The causes of these symptoms are cycle related and caused by the disruption of the normal hormonal cycle. Causes of this may be anything from stress to thyroid disease. If you do not get your period within the week, you should consider visiting your OB/GYN.
