Can A 5 Year Old Kid Have Athletes Feet?

Could my five year old son have athletes feet? His dad has major athletes feet so I was wondering if my son could have gotten it. His feet is peeling and what looks like blisters (some popped, just skin). He had the hand, mouth, and foot virus in the past. Also, the skin on his palm feels a bit hard and dry. What could cause these and how can I treat them? Thank you

Hello. I just read through your question. Athletes foot is a fungal infection of the feet. The feet, because they are typically covered, warm, and often moist from sweat, are an ideal environment for fungal growth. That is why it is so commonly seen there. Over the counter anti fungal creams, used as directed, are recommended.
