Can a 11 years child take amoclan bid tablets for respiratory tract infections?

Can a child 11 year old weighing more than 45Kgs take the amoclan bid tablet for respiratory tract infections? If so how many mg and how frequently?

The Amoclan tablets are a combination of Amoxycillin and claulanic acid.It is indicated for respiratory tract infection and the dosage of the medicine is calculated according to the weight of the adult or child.In children the dose is 20-40 mg per kg of weight as per the severity of the infection.If your child is 45 kg then the dose comes to 900mg which can be divided into 2 or 3 doses.The better way is to give is Amoclan 325mg twice a day and that should be enough if the infection is not very severe.

hi welcome to healthcare magic.the Amoclan tablet is given for all upper and lower respiratory tract infection.dosage is 375mg tab two times a day immedietly before meals is effective.this dosage s for mild diseases.
