Can Valparin Be Taken After Alcohol Consumption?

Hello doctor, I am been taking valparin 200 from past 1 year 11 months and had 1 episode of seizure. i usually suffer from stomach upset and rarely lack concentration is it normal, can i drink beer if i am on medication will it affect me can i take medicine soon after drinking My treating doc has recommended 2 years course Will i have seizure again if my eeg report comes normal and medicine stops after the course Can i b seizure free

I can understand your concern.
Some form of stomach upset and minor lack of concentration are acceptable.
So no need to worry much for this symptoms. You can take pantoprazole tablet for stomach problems.
It is better not to drink alcohol while you are on anti epileptic drugs. Alcohol can interact with drugs and reduce their therapeutic levels. So chances of recurrence of seizures is more when you drink alcohol.
So avoid alcohol at present.
Usually seizure medicines are needed for 2-3 years. If EEG (electro encephalo gram) is normal and patient is seizure free for 2 years then we can think of gradual taper down of these drugs.
Seizures do recur but if you follow healthy lifestyle, avoid alcohol then chances of recurrence is rare.
Don't worry, you will be alright but avoid alcoholic drinks.
