Can Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream 0.1% Be Applied On Rough Skin Tags?

Having been ill for a long time, I rested much. Now I have developed a few rough growths on my back that a massage therapist said are skin tags. They are flush with my skin. I have a former Rx of Triamcinolone Acetone Cream 0.1% for another problem. Could I apply this to the spots to help them dry up and disappear? I appreciate your answer. Is there a fee?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Skin tags are not flush with the skin. Skin tags grow on stalks. In any case, triamcinolone is for inflammation, not growths. If this is a growth on your skin then the steroid cream will not help. See your doctor, he or she may be able to freeze these lesions for you.
Regards
