Can Titralac Increase Blood Sugar Level?

I m a diabetic who also suffers from anxiety/depression. My doctor added a med and it helped, but made me nauseous. I had some OTC titralac and found that if I take those at the same time as the med I don t get nauseous. Since doing this my blood sugars have been very erratic and consistently high. I did a search on titralac and found it can increase blood sugars. Are you aware of any OTCs that would NOT affect my blood sugars? Wondering if sugar free tums would be better. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern.

Titralac is an antacid that will help with heartburn and nausea. It might cause frequent urination as it's high in calcium content.

Erratic blood sugar levels could be to the new added med your doctor prescribed to you.

You can take sugar free OTC Tums, but they will still give the feeling of frequent urination.

I advise to monitor your blood sugar levels (bsl), record the results and give to your caring doctor to see their oscillation and how to handle this situation.

Wish fast recovery.
