Can TB Or ATD Affect Thyroid?

I was treated for TB of neck in 1983 for 9months with Rifampicin & Izoniasid. I was fine for 25 yrs. In 2008 I was detected with TB in the neck with mild inflammation. The treatment was done after FNAC. This time along with above medicines, Pyzina was added. 6 months later, in Dec09, I had inflammation again and I am presently on ATD - initially with Forecox for 4/5 months followed by R-Cinex 600. The gland had ruptured in Mar10 and I was given Moxif400 since June10. The sinus remains although there is no pain, not much discharge etc. But I am not getting completely cured. Can anybody help me understand whether there is any possibility of complete recovery? Also, recent test of TSH shows the level as 20 against normal level upto 5. Is it possible that TB or ATD has affected my Thyroid also?

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.

You have hypothyroidism . It has no relation with your thyroid. So don't worry about that. You should take thyroid supplements like eltroxin or synthroids.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any doubts then feel free to ask me. I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
