Can Susten Be Taken Safely During Pregnancy?

hi madam am priyadarshini no am in 8th week of pregnancy ....i had bleeding during my 5 th eek of pregnancy..my doctor suggest me to take gestofit 300 mg OD for 15 days and nw itook the vaginal scan it shows my umbilical cord is in downward nw they gave me susten for 1month isit safe?

Hi Ms. Priyadarshini,
It is too early to detect the umbilical cord in the uterus as the gestation sac itself is so small at this stage and the structures just begin to define themselves. However, it is safe to use Susten at this stage of pregnancy if your consultant feels it is needed. This is because you may have had progesterone deficiency that may have caused the bleeding earlier. Supplements in such an event, will usually be needed until the placenta takes over at 12-14 weeks. Please take adequate rest, healthy diet, plenty of fluids and avoid stress. Hope this helps.
