Can Potassium Chloride 8 Meq ER Tab Prescribed After Kidney Transplant Be Supplemented By An OTC Drug?

my husband had a kidney transplant 10 yrs ago , (he had polysistic kidney dis.), he has been taking potassium cl 8 meq crtab ever since along with several other drugs and a few immunosuppressant drugs. After all this time we were finally able to replace his calicum rx with an OTC supplement, my question is can we do that with his potassium?

Looking to the medical history of your husband you can not do this thing you can not alter the treatment regime without the advise of his nephrologist, you have to talk to his doctor first, hope this information helps you, have nice day.
