Can Lisinopril Cause Heartburns?

I am 67 in good health and recently started taking 10mg lisonopril. While it has brought my blood pressure down I have now developed heartburn. I have never had heartburn in my life. My doctor says this is not a symptom of lisonopril. Could this drug possibly have some influence on this new condition/ Thanks

Hello and thanks for writing.

I can understand your concern and would try to help you in the best possible way. Heartburn due to lisinopril is a rare side effect but have been reported.
It could also be that heart burn is a completely different issue and is co incidental with your medications.
I suggest that you consult a doctor who may investigate you for the cause of heart burn an d start some medications for it.
You may also try not to take lisinopril empty stomach and take it with meals, and may try milk to help with the acidity.
