Can Lisinopril Cause Cough And Irritation In Throat?

How long does it take to have Lisinopril leave your system. I have carotid artery disease and am on Metoprolol for high blood pressure. It wasn t sufficient so my Doctor added Lisinopril. Since then I have had an irritation in the throat which makes me gag and vomit and also I have a cough which feels like I have fluid in my lungs. I also have pretty good post nasal drip which I have attributed the cough to. But that seems to be getting worse as well. I have been off the Lisinopril for a week. Is that sufficient to rule out the cause for the irritation in my throat. When I vomit, I feel like I am going to have a stroke.

Dry cough is one of the side effect of the lisinopril. You should meet your physician again and lisinopril should be changed with some other drugs( like losartan etc).
meet your physician.
Meanwhile stay calm
