Hi.

There is nothing to worry about it.

The emergency contraceptive pills like an I pill if taken within 72 hours after an unprotected sex (like a torn condom in your case) are up to 95% effective in preventing an unwanted pregnancy. I pill is more effective the sooner after intercourse it is taken.

It is generally safe and do not cause abortion or harm your reproductive system or future fertility. However, its frequent use can result in side-effects such as menstrual irregularities.

Following its use your period might be different. You might have a normal period at the expected time, or it may occur early or get delayed. You might also have some irregular bleeding or spotting until your next period.

If your period is more than 5 days late or is unusually light or unusually heavy, or especially painful, you should contact a gynecologist immediately.

Hope these answer your query.
Take care of yourself and to protect yourself from unwanted pregnancy and possible sexually transmitted diseases like HIV, Hepatitis B and C or Herpes your male partner uses condom for next encounters.
