Can I Take Sea Kelp With Low Fat Diet?

I have been told by my gp i need to go on a low fat diet, i assume this is down to an underactive thyroid as i had blood tests for this... I am epileptic and have been clear 3 yrs now and was wondering if i am able to take sea kelp to help with this diet??

Sea kelp has no fat and has appreciable iodine. INdeed, rarely in some susceptible people it can increase the thyroid level above normal due to its iodine content. It's pretty safe and nutritious generally.
