Since most of the anti-epileptic drugs (AEDs) are known to cause drug-drug interactions, however there is no clear evidence or scientific study done to find out such interactions between these drugs and Garcinia cambogia with green coffee bean extract. Claimed to be effective in weight loss thus reducing body weight, however according to FDA in 2009, some people developed liver problems after taking Garcinia cambogia to lose weight, hence its safety is not being tested on large multicentric clinical trials. The AED like Depakote can also cause hepatotoxicity (liver damage) as its side effect So, in view of the above, I will not advise you to take Garcinia combogia while on AEDs. You may opt for certain lifestyle changes like regular exercise, limiting the the calories intake, or certain medications like Orlistat to reduce the body weight after consulting your doctor.
