Can I Take Duphaston Along With Metformin And Folic Acid In Case Of Frequent Menstruation?
hello doctor, i am 26yrs old.i am taking metformin 500 mg(1 per day)& folic acid since from last 3 months.my doctor suggested me to take duphaston tablet 14day of my period. but the problem is i hv irregular period.sometimes periods will come 15days once.At that if i take the duphaston tablet or not??? what is the use of duphaston tablet?????

Duphaston is progesterone hormone. it is given to regularize your menstrual cycle.Your Doctor has given you right medicine. You should start from Day 14 of your period, counting you first day of period as day 1. Take one tablet exactly same time, preferably at bed time. Most commonly we give for 10 days, but you should follow your doctor;s instruction. Once you will stop Duphaston, you may see your period within 24 hours up to 10 days any time. In case you become pregnant, then also Duphaston will help in maintain g your pregnancy. If you do not see your period after 10days of the last tablet, you should see your doctor. SO in short, Duphaston tablet will prolong the interval between your two period, so your secretory phase ( second half of menstrual cycle) will prolong, and your chances of pregnancy will increase.
