Can I Take Zyrtec For Hive Like Rashes?

I have a "hive" like rash that itches and becomes red at times other times almost invisible tiny bumps that can be felt with fingertips but slmost invisible. They are located only on either side of my spine. This commenced approximately 1 month ago. I am taking Zyrtec, singulair daily and allergy shots weekly for allergies.

Hello Friend,

Welcome to healthcaremagic.

You are sufferening from a condition known as "urticaria" which can be acute or chronic.

If it is more than 6 weeks, it is known as chronic urticaria.

It is a sort of allergy which can be due to infection or any drugs.

Please tell me if you are on any sort of medication other than the ones you told me.

This sort of allergy can be severe enough leading to respiratory distress and angioedema that is swelling of lips and eyes; which can be an emergency situation, may require urgent hospitalisation and intervention.

I will advice you to get your hemoglobin, Total leucocyte count , differential leucocyte, urine routine and microscopy done.

I will recommend you to take tablet levocetrizine in night and tablet fexofenadine in morning.

You may need to take a short course of oral steroids but under supervision only.

Send me the reports of the investigation listed so that we can proceed further.

stay healthy.
