Can I Take Z-pack For Nasal Sinus Congestion And Headaches?

I had bronchitis/sinus infection a month ago. Most of it cleared out. Now my chest flutters and I still have some nasal sinus congestion with occassional headaches. I had similar symptoms years ago and was diagnosed with a sinus infection and being just plain tired. I still have a refill for a z-pack remaining. Should I get it filled and hope for the best? I have no insurance and can't afford the $100 local doctor visit at the clinic. Please advise

Hi thank you for posting your query on health care magic.

Looking at your symptoms,you are probably suffering from inflammation in the respiratory tract and sinuses.

You may find relief by taking the following medication:
Analgesic with Antiinflammatory like Ibuprofen,
Antacid like Rantac,
Antihistaminic like Cetrizine,
Oral decongestant like Phenylephrine,
nasal decongestant drops like Xylometazoline,
Cough expectorant like Ambroxol,
Bronchodilator the Salbutamol.

If you are suffering from symptoms like high grade fever,pus discharge in the cough,etc suggestive of a bacterial infection,then it would be advisable to start oral antibiotics like Azithromycin(Z pack).

Also do steam inhalation.Drink plenty of warm fluids.Avoid cold food and dust.
