Can I Stop The Intake Of Zoloft After Relieved From Depression?

I have been taking 250 of zoloft since October and I can no longer tolerate the side effects of stomach pain, diarreah, night sweats and nightmares, not to mention that I am lethargic and have gained 10 pounds. I took it for depression and I'm no longer depressed so it did work for that, along with therapy to work through some personal issues. I used to take citalopram at 40 mg and I want to go back to that....opinion please?

hi
thanks for using HCM.
once you are relieved of depression then you can ask your doctor to reduce the dose of zoloft. if you remain symptom free after tapering the zoloft and finally off the zoloft, then there is no need to take the other drug citalopram too. If you again experience the symptom of depression then you might think of taking citalopram as it helped you in past.
thanks
