hello
thanks for using health care magic
All questions are important so long as it concerns someone's health.
Saliva is known to contain
antibodies against
HIV but infective viral
strains have not been isolated in the saliva of infected persons unless
that infected person is has wounds or ulcers in the mouth through which
blood leaks out.
Only saliva alone, the risk is minimal if not zero and you do not need to
worry.
However, screening to know one's HIV sero-status is always important to
guide on what measures to take. So i will recommend you do screening
even if the risk is minimal at least to be sure and certain of your
sero-status. An initial testing should be done now, then two others at
three months and at six months.
Hope this helps.
Best regards
