There are many reasons your period could be heavy and irregular, and knowing the exact reason will help determine if you are capable of being pregnant again. Many women have heavier periods in general after having one child, especially if they gained a lot of weight during the pregnancy, but if you bleed enough to become anemic and require medication to control your bleeding that is not normal. Also you say your periods are irregular- tests of your hormones can help to evaluate the reason this is happening and evaluate if you ovulate. A simple cyst of the ovary is not harmful and has no bearing on the frequency or quality of your period. So it really is not possible to determine if you can get pregnant again, but my best advice is- if you want to conceive, try, but you will not conceive if you are taking northisterone because it is a hormone and may affect your ovulation. There is no way to ascertain one's fertility without trying to become pregnant. So it cannot hurt to try- and see... and if you cannot conceive after trying for a year consider seeing a fertility specialist. I hope this was helpful and good luck!
